Designers have a mixed emotions over the concept of custom shirts. The custom shirts are actually good in the sense that all the people get to design their own shirts. Also it kindles the designing skills of a person. The flip side of the custom shirts is that the designers lose out on their share of designs. Those designs which would have otherwise created by a designer could not be done because of the “I wear my design” concept. Keeping this aspect apart, also there is another positive aspect in to it. The designers also get to design a marvelous piece of shirt and either wear for themselves or sell it at a good price. This privilege always vests upon the designers community.

Debt haunts designers also

Debt is a universal problem and the real problem is that there is no universal solution to it. Every sphere of life we find the debt issue and every individual fighting his or her way out of the debt. The same is in the world of design. The world of designers is also filled with debts. The real problem lies in the fact that designs are not considered an asset when it comes to lending money. The designers do not get the option of mortgaging their art and design works to the banks or other financial institutions. The true value of a design or art is known only when the product is out for an auction or is on sale.

The other haunting factor about debts is that the designers like me are less aware about the debt management methods. Last week, I was in search of something unique to buy for my brother for his 50 birthday. As he is not a tech geek I knew any new product from the market will be a waste on him. I visited the State house Rotunda which is located in New Jersey, United States. The State Capitol Building is a work of art inside and out. The rotunda is surrounded by stained glass and eagle lines in the balconies. The dispersion of the light inside by the stained glass is magical. Though the stained glass was completed towards the end of 20th century thanks to the renovation work the glass looks as good as new. The paintings on the glass reflect the contemporary time of that era. I felt really awed when that evening light fell on me through the stained glass. One would feel as if he is now partaking in the history depicted on the glass. My favorite glass piece is a simple stained glass having a blue round. I believe that symbolizes an ocean, which is surrounded by olive leaves set on an iron fence. The color dispersion here gave me a nostalgic feeling.
